Transportation

We arrange your transportation from the St. Thomas Airport to Kismet and back to the airport for your departure at no extra charge—a smooth, hassle free transition from the airport to Kismet can be assured. A private, air conditioned van will pick you up at the airport to take you to a water taxi which will transport you to St. John’s National Park dock.

There you will be met by Kismet’s Estate Manager, who will convey you to the villa in Kismet’s customized Safari truck. However, for your convenience in getting around St. John, we suggest you rent a car, or possibly two, depending on the number in your party.

To secure the water taxi service, it is important to get your arrival information to our Estate Managers four weeks in advance of your stay at Kismet.

Don't waste your precious vacation time picking up and returning your rental car. Rent your St. John vehicle through Kismet's Accommodation with Car Rental Agencies and it will be at the villa awaiting your arrival. No need to rush on your last day of vacation to return your rental car. Kismet will return the car for you.

To assure that this service is provided, Kismet's Estate Managers must have your arrival information four weeks prior to your arrival.

A Note from the Estate Managers:

After you book with our New York office you will be provided with our e-mail, phone number and St. John mailing address. We are here to help, please write or call with any questions or requests. Once we have your flight number, time of arrival and departure we will schedule our driver to meet you at the St. Thomas airport. From there you will be brought to the dock and picked up by the water taxi which will then transport you to the National Park dock on St. John. We will meet you at the dock in the Kismet safari and drive you to the villa.

Your rental cars will be waiting for you at the villa; please book your rental cars early so we can guaranty this service.

Once you have settled in we can give you a lift to the market. After a day of travel we find this to be the best way to go shopping. Also, if your flight is landing later than 4 p.m. a drop off dinner from one of the caterers can be quite helpful.

If you are staying for a few weeks, traveling in a private plane or planning a special event, you may want to mail belongings, special wines or party favors in advance. We will be happy to pick these up and have them waiting for you at Kismet. Please triple the estimated mailing time of Priority Mail or Fed Ex as deliveries may move slowly in the Islands.

Indulgences for Children

Kismet is not only elegant and exciting for adults, but provides an extensive selection of equipment and materials for your children's comfort, entertainment, interest and education.  

Your baby, on his/her first trip to St. John, will sleep comfortably in a full size crib furnished with high quality linens. They can easily join you in enjoying an island breakfast of mangos and papayas in the high chair.  Let your roaming toddler enjoy the toys, games and books provided at the villa; a pack-n-play is also available.  And a Bugaboo stroller is perfect for a walk around the neighborhood with your baby or toddler. During nap time or while you savor an after dinner drink, one of the baby monitors will help you fully relax while keeping you in tune with their needs.  

For young children who are not quite ready for a "grown up" bed, Kismet provides bed rails or a queen size air mattress for night time safety and a dining booster seat to include everyone in the celebratory meals.

Your older children will stay entertained with the play station, Wii and billiards in the game room.  They will also enjoy a morning matinee in the Home Theater with Bambi, Cinderella, or Nemo; we have many children's films to choose from. Kismet also provides a toddler car seat; please contact us in advance should you need more than one.  

For a day at the beach, adults and children alike will enjoy building sandcastles with the colorful selection of shovels and pails, and the comfort of beach chairs and an umbrella. The "beach shower" located in the driveway makes clean-up a snap, no matter how much of the beach the little ones bring home in their suits.

Private Chef Services are available at an additional cost. Visiting the website of some of our favorite Chefs on St. John will give you an idea of what they can offer you. Here is a small sample.
Mat from Mathayom will prepare a scrumptious 7 course formal meal, as well as more simple fares. Interested in a more “Asian-flavor” meal; then Julie from East West Catering is your answer. Laura from Passion Fruit Chefs will prepare you a delectable Caribbean feast. For delicious continental meals and more, we recommend Katilady Catering, winner of the Virgin Island Daily News 2009 Best Private Chef Award. Other chefs can also be arranged by our Estate Manager.
